Above is a link to a song titled ‘No Kind Words’ by British Indie artists, The Maccabees. The song uses something which we have thought about using in our video: ‘face art’. Although we will not have a budget for our video, we could still sue something similar to this, perhaps with paint or make up. The video is very postmodern and employs intertextuality from classic ‘arcade’ games.
Really like this idea Mark, I mean a lot! The videos awesome too, have they got any other videos we could look at when designing sequences for our video? How would we achieve the effect as well? It would be far too difficult to do on Photoshop or on Premiere, so, like you say, do it in real life? We could just paint random patterns then see what happens. We could either do loads of clips with loads of different art on my face, or we could try and stop motion it so new patterns seem to ‘grow’ on my face. What do you think?
